Trae Ireland's career in entertainment began in front of the camera. Upon arriving in Los Angeles from Chicago, Illinois, Trae immediately became immersed into the television realm, being cast in the hit sitcom "Moesha." Following his stint on “Moesha,” Trae landed roles on Emmy award-winning shows, "Once and Again" as well as "JAG," which led to being cast in the films “Breaking All the Rules,” “Ray,” “Coach Carter,” and “The Comebacks.” Trae has had the opportunity to work with some of the entertainment industry's elite. In the midst of his fledgling career in acting, Trae began writing. Initially, his writing served as a means to tackle entertainment industry frustrations, but gradually his talent for character creation emerged.
Within months he was approached to do re-writes for feature films, and eventually began writing his own screenplays. He has been a Consulting Producer for Sony Screen Gems, and in 2007, Screen Gems gave him his shot at Associate Producing his first feature, “First Sunday” starring Ice Cube. Trae's love for film and television has served him well in his career and the marriage of acting and writing shows in his works. |
