Emayatzy Corinealdi relocated to California by way of New Jersey. She has performed in numerous stage productions and is a member of Towne Street Theatre, LA’s premiere African-American Theatre Company. She just completed filming a new TV show for The N Network and Viacom titled “Katrina,” in which she plays the title character of Katrina, an 18 year-old girl from New Orleans who is relocated to San Francisco with her brother to start a new life. She also filmed another pilot earlier this year titled “Demons” starring Ron Eldard. In the world of film, Emayatzy has been slowly but surely making her mark. She starred in “A Taste of Us,” directed by Shavar Ross; “Exodus,” directed by Matthew Pexa and playing opposite Malik Whitfield; “Wednesday Again,” directed by John Lavachielli and starring Richmond Arquette; and most recently, “Akira,” directed by Joe Doughrity, in which she plays opposite of James Kyson Lee of “Heroes”. Emayatzy also completed a run of “The Bachelorette Party,” the Will Smith-produced hit stage play directed by Don B. Welch. She left the tour in July to accept a role on “The Young & The Restless.” Emayatzy Corinealdi is an extremely talented and passionate young woman who is sure to continue on her path of doing great work. |
