David Ely was born in Stuttgart, Germany. He lived there only a few years after his birth because his parents served in the military. Moving became a natural lifestyle for him and has greatly contributed in his ability to adapt to his environment. He has lived in several states within the US including Alabama, where his father and brother were born, and the island of Hawaii, where his mother was born. El Paso, Texas has been his home since the early 90’s. After graduating high school, he decided to join the US Navy, and he honorably served for six years as a Russian translator. He completed his tour and received his Bachelor of Science which focused in Russian Studies at Wayland Baptist University. He is currently an Assistant Fitness Director at LA Fitness and is also in the US Naval Reserves. David Ely’s acting career began while he was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. He was hand selected to be one of a few sailors from his duty station to be a part of Bruckheimer-Bay’s “Pearl Harbor”. That was the bug that bit him and he has since achieved guest star roles on Fox’s “North Shore”; ABC’s “Lost”; and he was also one of 12 selected to showcase his talent in ABC’s 2006 Diversity Showcase. Directly following the showcase he landed a lead role in his feature film debut , “Cordially Invited.” David Ely currently resides in North Hollywood, California and is actively pursuing his career as a veteran actor. |
